Therapist Training Manual

There are numerous therapy techniques or interventions across the field of mental health ranging across spectrums of verbal to nonverbal, consciousness to unconscious awareness, and time orientated to experiential domains. This training manual is a culmination of material and resources accrued by the primary author, Dr. Mark Carich, since the early 1980’s. Educations of new and seasoned professionals through trainings and graduate courses has highlighted insecurities, held by clinicians at various levels, about techniques and interventions to implement within session. This handbook offers various techniques obtained through the literature separated into ten main categories based on experiential domains, awareness, internal sensory processes, and linguistic symbolic paradoxical patterns. The manual begins by offering an overview of the generic features of the therapeutic process, including change. Although there are a variety of interventions, it takes strategies and plans to deliver these techniques in the session. Various aspects of the therapy process are defined in terms of generic structures, stages, and patterns. The manual then offers an overview of techniques across the therapy spectrum including specific ways to implement selected techniques within session with clients.
